An exhibition showcasing the creative work of young Hackney residents has opened its doors to the public.
Nineteen budding artists take centre stage at the ‘Through Young Eyes’ exhibition as they show off their impressive artwork collection, inspired by the famous German British painter Frank Auerbach.
The exhibition held at Sfumato Art Studio on Stoke Newington High Street, displays different Hackney landscapes painted with oil on canvas in a range of colours and sizes, across the chosen theme of perspective.

Artist Josiah Ojarikre,13, who has been attending classes for more than six months said: Being part of the exhibition means I am part of a community. It allows me to be free to show and express what I love to do.
“I felt nervous at first, but I think it is an amazing opportunity to create art and have it exhibited.”
The public are invited to pause and reflect on the perspective adopted by each young artist and think about the meaning behind each piece- which are all currently up for sale.
Patricia Evangelista, exhibition curator and founder of Sfumato Art Studio said: I am very proud of the work all the young people have created. I want to continue to inspire young people and not only introduce them to art but also to teach them how to prepare for art exhibitions.”
The exhibition is FREE to the public and open till July 13.
