A new book on Leyton Orient chants the club’s history through they eyes of its supporters

Leyton Orient fans must be in seventh heaven at the moment.

A magnificent start to the new season sees them flying high at the top of League One and many will no doubt be comparing this team to the greats of the club’s past.

For Mooney, Lisbie, Cox and Slade, substitute past names like Cunningham, Kitchen, Castle and Carey.

And O’s fans can now relive those halcyon days of muddy pitches and the smell of linament in a new book written very much with those supporters to the fore.

Leyton Orient – Brisbane Road Memories is a high quality, full colour book, compiled and edited by Football World’s Tony McDonald, and provides a fascinating insight into the O’s since their move to Brisbane Road in 1937 – as seen through the eyes of the East London club’s most loyal supporters.

Around 200 die-hard fans of all ages from the blue-and-white Division Three South days of the 1950s to the most recent followers share their unique memories of watching professional football in E10.
