MOBO nominated artist Not3s went back to the school where he took music lessons as a teenager for a secret gig.
The visit to BSix Sixth Form College took place on the anniversary of his career-breaking hit ‘Addison Lee’.
Pupils watched an exclusive performance live-streamed on Facebook, and took part in a question and answer session with the artist.
Not3s, 19, a former Hackney youth parliament member, spoke about growing up in Hackney, and its influence on his music.
He said: “There are loads of different types of people in Hackney, different ethnicities and cultural backgrounds, growing up with people from different cultures means you’re learning different things. I think that could be a big influence on some of the things that I’ve done.”
Nikolas Okoroafor, 18, said he was “really inspired” by his story.
