Alexander McQueen’s charity has been granted a licence to serve booze at its fashion shows despite objections from neighbours.
Sarabande in Kingsland Basin, Haggerston, can host a maximum of 50 events a year, half of which must be attended by no more than 50 people.
No DJ-led parties or raves are allowed and the courtyard outside, which has flats around it, is out of bounds.
The other half of the events can have up to 150 people in attendance. They must all finish at 11.30pm.
The conditions were imposed by Hackney councillors after neighbours complained the licence would attract anti-social behaviour and drug taking to the area, which is largely residential.
Sarabande was left the bulk of the 40-year-old fashion designers £16million fortune following his death in 2010.
