Angelina Ballerina – the world’s most famous mouse ballet star – will teach Hackney children how to pirouette in a free lesson during the summer holidays.

The iconic children’s character – beloved of young book readers and cartoon watchers – will be at Shoreditch Town Hall later this month to celebrate becoming three dimensional; she is set to appear on new channel Sky 3D this year.

Budding ballerinas over the age of six have been invited to watch an Angelina Ballerina 3D film at a special tea party at the venue in Old Street.

Youngsters will then be able to have a go at ballet themselves by taking part in a 3D master class with the superstar, which has been choreographed by real English National Ballet dancers. The children will learn a routine they will later perform for their parents, and they will enjoy a traditional tea afterwards.

The event will take place on Monday, July 25, from 2pm to 4pm, but space is limited. To apply for tickets, visit www.sky.com/3D.
