Apprentice winner Mark Wright has helped a hair and beauty business increase its turnover by an impressive 60 per cent in the space of 10 months.

Wright secured a £250,000 investment into his digital marketing agency Climb Online from Hackney-born business magnate Lord Alan Sugar when he won the BBC TV show in 2014.

The London Hair Academy and The London Makeup School, based in Curtain Road, Shoreditch, signed up as clients last October and since the introduction of a digital marketing strategy the turnover of the businesses has rocketed from £740,000 to £1.2 million.

The strategy has seen clicks to the website increase by more than 50 per cent, and the digital marketing campaign fills 80 per cent of the 65 training student spaces. Mark said: “The past 18 months or so has been an incredible journey for both Climb Online and many of the clients we work with in that we have all experienced such incredible growth. The London Hair Academy and The London Makeup School are an excellent example of this, and it demonstrates just how effective a well-managed digital marketing campaign can be for aiding business development.”

Climb Online is the most successful business to have been founded by an Apprentice winner to date and January should see the agency, based in Bishopsgate, secure a second year turnover in excess of £4million.
