Hackney Council is looking for apprentices in its housing department.
The tenancy and leasehold department is looking for young people aged between 16 and 24 who live in Hackney and have a minimum of four GCSE grades A-C, including maths and English.
There are currently five positions offering the opportunity to learn and understand housing management services and achieve NVQ Level 2 or 3 in housing.
The one-year programme includes a range of in-house training, working alongside qualified council staff, and attending college to gain a formal qualification.
Luqmaan Khan, 23, a first year housing trainee apprentice, said: “The housing apprenticeship has been a step into the real world with opportunities left and right. I have been able to work with individuals who have vast amounts of knowledge and experience in a diverse role. Getting a hands-on opportunity with a qualification and a salary is the complete package!”
