BBC's George Alaghiah to chair Hackney Debate discussing Twitter, Facebook and Instagram

The popular Hackney Debate, chaired by the BBC's George Alagiah, is returning to De Beauvoir for the fifth time.

The theme this year the theme is the impact of social media on society, and panellists will question whether Twitter, Facebook and Instagram have a positive or negative effect.

Speaking at the debate in St Peter’s Church will be Dr Paolo Gerbaudo, lecturer in digital culture and society at King’s College, Olivia Solon, associate editor of Wired magazine, Caroline Criado-Perez, journalist and feminist campaigner and Stephen Foster, Principal of the Bridge Academy.

The free debate takes place at St Peter’s Church in Northchurch Terrace on Friday November 29 at 7.30pm.
