A massive anti-knife crime message has been spray painted across a wall in 0ld Street where a young man was tragically stabbed to death.

Street artist Ben Eine unveiled his “stop knife crime” painting, which spans a 21 meter wall, today.

Ben unveiled a mural on the same stretch of wall ten years ago, honouring 22-year-old youth worker and musician Tom-Louis Easton who was stabbed to death nearby in 2006.

Ben Eine said: “The situation with knife crime is just getting worse and worse and people have had enough. More has to be done to prevent it. This has to stop.”

The artist is a long-time collaborator with the Flavasum Trust – an anti-knife crime charity founded by Mr Easton’s parents in 2007 – that encourages young people to get involved in the arts.

A Flavasum Trust spokesperson said: “Ben’s paintings near where Tom was stabbed to death in 2006 are a constant reminder to anyone passing along Old Street that something tragic happened there.

“Ten years later knife crime is still with us and Ben still gives up his time. We love and respect him for that.”
