A bin collector from Hackney was rushed to hospital this morning after his truck ran over his foot.

The worker had got out to grab some bins in Fairholt Road, Stoke Newington, just after 8am when the front wheel rolled over him.

Medics arrived and treated him at the scene before taking him to hospital as a priority with leg injuries.

A town hall spokesman said CCTV would be viewed and the truck would be inspected to find out how and why it happened.
