Mystery surrounds an “unexplained” death after police recovered a body from Regents Canal yesterday afternoon (Tuesday).
Officers were called to the canal, near Broadway Market, Hackney, to recover the body at about 2.40pm.
A Hackney Police spokeswoman said: “Enquiries are underway to establish the identity of the deceased. A post-mortem will be scheduled in due course.
“At this moment the death is being treated as unexplained.”
