A couple celebrated their third wedding anniversary by running for charity dressed as a bride and groom.
Actors Duncan Brown and Jo Castleton-Brown, of Shalbourne Square, Hackney Wick, ran the Great South Run in Portsmouth on Sunday in one hour 52 minutes and two hours 21 minutes respectively.
They took on the 10-mile challenge to raise money for Starlight Children’s Foundation, a national charity that grants wishes for seriously and terminally ill children. The couple were trying to raise money for the charity’s touring pantomime and party which visited Homerton University Hospital in Homerton Row, Homerton last Christmas.
Mrs Castleton-Brown, who works part-time for the charity’s fundraising team, said: “We thought it would be nice to raise some money to cheer up some children at Christmas.
“I’ve done that run before but it’s the first time I’ve run it in a wedding dress. Duncan carried me over the finishing line. People called me a runaway bride and told me to hurry up!”
