Teenagers are being offered a once in a lifetime opportunity to volunteer at the 2012 School Games - the first multi-sport event to use the Olympic Park ahead of London 2012.

Over 400 volunteers aged 16 years and over are needed for roles ranging from medal ceremonies, media operations and team liaison to support the delivery of the event.

Over 1500 young people from schools across the UK take part in 12 sports across several venues, including the Olympic Stadium, Olympic Velodrome, London Excel and the Aquatics Centre.

Helen Killingley of the London Youth Games Foundation, co-ordinators of the School Games volunteer programme said: For any volunteers, the 2012 School Games will be something really valuable to add to any CV and also promises to be an enjoyable, insightful and rewarding experience.”

The application closing date is 31 January 2012 at 5pm, for more information visit www.sgvolunteers.org
