Young Hackney singers wanted for ITV show X Factor-style talent contest
Are you the next big singing sensation?
Hackney Council wants to find five singers aged 13-19 to headline in the ‘I’m In’ talent contest on February 4, the official launch of the borough’s free youth arts and culture festival, Discover Young Hackney 2011.
If you think you’ve got IT for the ITV X-Factor style show, then auditions take place on January 15 at Hoxton Hall in Hoxton Street.
Cllr Jonathan McShane, Hackney Council Cabinet Member for Community Services, said: “Hackney is full of talented young people, and the ‘I’m In’ talent contest gives you an opportunity to get on stage and show an audience what you’ve got.
“It’s also a great way to open the Council’s Discover Young Hackney festival.”
Free festival Discover Young Hackney promotes participation and training in the arts for young people, through a range of taster sessions and workshops run by creative professionals in music, dance, radio, art, literature, photography, design, singing, film and theatre.
