Hackney Council is considering extending a ban on casinos in the borough, as it reviews its gambling policy.

Residents and businesses are being asked for comments before finalising the policy for the next three years.

The current gambling policy has been in place for the past eight years, but by law the council should review it at least every three years.

There are currently 62 licensed gambling premises in Hackney including 58 betting shops, one bingo hall and three adult gaming centres. There are no casinos and the council is considering extending its “no casino” resolution.

Comments can be submitted to Freepost Hackney Licensing Service and must be received by 5pm on September 4.
