There will be a reindeer in Chatsworth Road tomorrow for a late-night Christmas market.

Santa will also be giving away presents from his grotto as shops and more than 60 stalls offer discount prices on products and restaurants dish out treats.

The road will be closed to traffic while the market takes place, and choirs and musicians from two local schools will be performing on a special stage in the road, along with adult choir Hackney Voices and steel drum band Pantonic.

“We wanted to make this event special by bringing the real reindeer, and people will be able to visit a street packed with goodies and about 60 stalls,” said Nicole Saba, of Hackney Draper shop, who has organised the event alongside Jorn from I love Chatsworth Road, Asher and Dee from The Castle cinema, Holly from Darling and Gold, Ella from A New Tribe, Stephen from Jim’s Café and Cllr Ian Rathbone.

They have been working hard for several months to get the council to close the road.
