Visitors to a Christmas market will get to drink mulled wine, listen to some carols and do some late night shopping – all while raising money for the elderly.
The Old Truman Brewery will be transformed tomorrow night for the festive for supporting Mind in the City, which supports vulnerable older people through the lonely Christmas period.
The free event starts at the Brick Lane venue at 5.30pm.
India Roche, Older People’s Project Coordinator at Mind in the City comments; ‘During the winter months when temperatures drop, we see an increase in vulnerable older people who avoid leaving the house and in turn have less social interaction with others. Being around friends and family is essential to our mental health - Mind in the City is setting out to ensure that people without these comforts do not feel alone over the winter period and with your help and kind donations we can make this possible’.
