In October we reported that the “shoe was on the other foot” for one unlucky Cinderella, who was being forced to hunt down her own Prince Charming.

The group, which has been a fixture in Hackney for more than 45 years, warned if they couldn’t cast the romantic lead role for their Christmas production then Cinderella may not go to the ball.

But Victoria Powell from Hoxton, an alumna of the prestigious Italia Conti school, stepped forward and has bagged the role.

Tickets are now on sale for the panto, which runs from January 27 to 29 at Morland Community Hall in Gayhurst Road, London Fields.

They cost £7 for adults and £5 for children and concessions.

All profits from ticket sales on the Saturday evening will be donated to the Hackney Playbus appeal to buy the play charity a new double-decker.
