“Can east London become the new Silicon Valley?” will be the topic of a City Hall meeting next Tuesday (December 6).

The London Assembly’s Economy, Culture and Sport (ECS) Committee will be examining progress on the Tech City project at a public meeting, with expert guests from government and industry.

The Government established the Tech City Investment Organisation in March to support and promote the area as one of the world’s top destinations for tech entrepreneurs, alongside places like New York and the Silicon Valley.

The committee will ask whether more could be done to promote and support new businesses around Old Street’s so-called ‘Silicon Roundabout.’

The meeting takes place in Committee Room 5 at 10am.
