Nursery children got a glimpse into the world of the fire and rescue service as part of a school project on people in the borough that help others.

More than 30 children explored the different parts of a fire engine, including using the water hose and had photographs taken with the firefighters on February 6.

Tara Bulgin, nursery manager at A.B.C Nursery, in Downs Road, Clapton, organised the visit in collaboration with local children centres Linden and Coomberton.

Tara said: “The day was a huge success and this just shows how partnership can bring about positive outcomes for all.

“The nursery is a partnership between parent and carers, members of staff, students, children centres, health professionals, and the list is endless. Let’s work together to provide an integrated framework which can make a difference to the lives of our parents, their families and our young people and staff with whom we work as together everyone achieves more.”
