A company set to open a “low cost” studio in Fish Island Village in Hackney Wick – where warehouses are being routinely bulldozed – is holding an open day.

The Trampery, a social enterprise, will open a 50,000 sq ft shared studio space in the next three years, says it wants to help people losing their current space to remain in the area.

On Tuesday they will be hosting a gathering, welcome to all, to share information about the studio and listen to artists about what they think the studios should focus on. They will also discuss how much the studio will cost to hire.

“We’re looking for input on what equipment and facilities should be our top priorities,” the firm said. “We’d also appreciate your suggestions on how The Trampery can best contribute to the Hackney Wick Fish Island community.

The event takes place at Stour Space, Roach Road from 7pm to 8.30pm.

Anyone interested in going can let The Trampery know on their Facebook page.
