Residents are being invited to have their say on a vision to create the Woodberry Wetlands, as part of the major regeneration of Woodberry Down estate.

The London Wildlife Trust (LWT) charity received a Heritage Lottery Fund grant of £84,000 in January and is now developing a more detailed bid for area around the Stoke Newington East and West reservoirs and a stretch of the New River.

If successful the plans will restore the listed Gas House as a volunteer hub, create changes to the habitat around East Reservoir and offer new access routes to the reservoirs.

The LWT has been working with Thames Water, Berkeley Homes, Hackney Council, Genesis Homes, Manor House Development Trust and Natural England, and an event on Sunday July 7 has been organised to show their proposed designs with presentations and a guided tour around the East Reservoir.

It takes place in the East Reservoir Community Garden in Newnton Close from 10am until 4pm.
