A violent and dangerous convict who escaped while on leave from a mental health unit has been found.
Cornell Destouches, 25, fled on April 10 in Walthamstow but has now been caught by police at an address in Leyton.
He has now been returned to the John Howard Centre in Homerton. Police had only yesterday revealed that Destouches had been convicted of attempted murder in 2014 after stabbing a Police Community Support Officer.
Det Insp Paul Ridley leading the investigation, said: “I want to thank members of the public for their assistance and the information that was provided. The public’s assistance is invaluable in cases of this nature.”
