Driver of stolen van - with green oak tree image - deliberately struck police car
POLICE are hunting the driver of a stolen Ford Transit van who injured two police officers in Homerton after deliberately striking their car.
Cops were chasing the van down Homerton Road towards Hackney Marshes last Thursday night (November 25), after responding to a call the vehicle had been stolen.
The van came to a halt, unable to pass through the narrow road and reversed at high speed, striking the front of the police car, before making off at speed.
The female PC had to be cut free from the car by the London Fire Brigade, and was taken to hospital suffering from head and neck injuries.
Her colleague, who was driving, was also taken to hospital with neck and back injuries, and both officers were later discharged.
The van’s side panels both have an image of a green oak tree and green lettering, ‘Oaks Civil Engineering.’
