This man is wanted by gang police over the shooting of a woman at a New Year’s event in a Dalston nightclub.
Officers were called to The 588 Club, formerly Visions Video Bar, in Kingsland Road at 4.50am on New Year’s Day after the 28-year-old clubgoer was shot.
Scotland Yard said a man was seen to pull out a gun and confront another man, before a struggle ensued and a shot was fired.
The bullet hit the innocent bystander in the leg and six weeks on she is still receiving treatment for her injuries.
Detectives from the Met’s gang squad Trident have now released CCTV images of the suspect, a black man believed to be 30 who has a tattoo on the right side of his neck of the words “God” and “Bless”.
Det Con Kerry Cooper said: “This man went armed and discharged a firearm in a crowded club. As a result of his recklessness an innocent woman was shot in the leg, but the consequences could have been fatal.
“We urgently want to arrest this man and take this weapon off the streets. Anyone with information should not hesitate, but call police immediately.”
The club was shut at the start of January pending a full review of its premise licence, as requested by Hackney police. The review took place on January 30 but the Gazette was banned from entering the town hall hearing.Any witnesses or anyone with any information can call police on 101 or contact via Twitter @MetCC.
