A Hackney woman has denied murdering a 91-year-old retired builder at his home in Tottenham.

William Reilly was found by his son seriously injured at his Tower Gardens Road home on December 29 last year.

He was rushed to the Royal London Hospital but died on January 6, from a combination of trauma to the head and pneumonia.

Melanie Cole, 49, of Culford Road, De Beauvoir, appeared at the Old Bailey on Monday (April 18) charged with murder and pleaded not guilty.

She was remanded in custody to return for trial on August 8.
