A man allegedly grabbed a meat cleaver from a shop before chasing another man through Ridley Road Market.

Several calls were made to emergency services yesterday afternoon at 3.30pm during the fracas in Dalston before unarmed officers detained the 35-year-old suspect.

He was arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon and a public order offence, and is currently in custody at an East London police station.

No one was injured during the incident.
