St Augustine’s clock tower inspiration for dance performance

PUBLISHED: 20:53 01 September 2013 | UPDATED: 20:53 01 September 2013

Over £18,000 of Lottery money has been awarded to a dance company to put on a performance at St Augustine’s clock tower.

Newington Dance Space’s project will see a dozen young people aged 19-25 gain skills in the fields of heritage and arts through the project about the familiar landmark, which will hopefully help them secure work or a further education placement.

The project will begin in September and culminate in a site specific performance at the clock tower in Mare Street, Hackney Central in December.
