A cannabis factory was discovered in Hackney yesterday morning, following complaints from neighbours about a “strong smell”.

Officers in Hackney discovered several cannabis plants after searching a home in Stoke Newington at 7.30am, and posted a picture of the find to their official Twitter page MPS Hackney.

Police Sergeant Adam Turvey said: “We forced entry using our specialist method of entry team and found a cannabis factory.”

One man was arrested and taken into custody on suspicion of the cultivation of cannabis.
