A teenager was stabbed as he was travelling on a bus through Clapton Common this afternoon.

Police were called at 2.47pm to the junction with Castlewood Road where a boy, believed to be in his mid-teens, was found with stab wounds.

He was taken to an east London hospital and Scotland Yard is waiting to hear details of his condition. Pictures from the scene showed an ambulance in the street and a cluster of medics working on the victim.

Police have cordoned off the street. No one has been arrested.
