A loaded revolver was taken off the streets of Hackney yesterday, as police officers arrested a 14-year old girl.
The gun was found inside the wardrobe at a home in Waterloo Close, Homerton.
Officers from the Trident Gang Crime Command North East Proactive Team conducted the search warrant at the address located just 400m from where Joseph Burke-Monerville was shot in the head on Saturday night.
DI Steve Meechan from Trident said: “In light of the tragic events at the weekend, officers are committed to tackling gun crime by holding to account those who chose to carry weapons and are involved in gang violence.
“Trident will continue its efforts to take these weapons out of circulation.”
