A pair of musicians have been left heartbroken after their latest compositions and a beloved guitar were stolen out of their van.
Singer Ella Joy and drummer Elliot Hingston, who perform in Nányë, parked their van in Wallis Road, Hackney Wick, on Sunday afternoon.
When they returned after visiting a cafe, their kit was missing.
As well as the two MacBooks that contained their songs and an Aria red, left-handed semi-hollow electric guitar, an iPhone 6, purse, and three bags were stolen out of the Volkswagen.
But someone from Central Books, near where van was parked, took photos of two men standing by it who are believed to have information about the crime.
Ella, 19, who was visiting from Guildford, said: “These guys have been robbed twice themselves before so they were on autopilot, and they wanted to cover our back with this one.
“What we are most gutted about is the music we have written has gone – so much love and time has gone into that and it’s so brutal they have taken it.
“Some of my music was backed up but Elliot has lost all his work. It’s heartbreaking – I can’t even say what that’s like.
“It makes you question everyone. We were literally gone for 10 minutes. The thieves were in and out within three minutes.”
The photo timeline shows one of the men with his hands near the lock of the Volkswagen, before he can be seen standing underneath its open boot. He can then be seen standing next to a guitar sticking out of a silver Astra car, registration plate T520 RPC.
Another image shows the face of one of the men, who has a tattoo at the top of his left arm and was wearing a t-shirt printed with “Manhattan New York City 15-2”.
Ella, who was visiting from Guildford, said: “We would really love someone to contact the police if they have any information on the items stolen or recognise these men.”
Hackney police confirmed they were investigating the theft.
Anyone who recognises the men in Central Books’ series of photographs is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference number CAD5273. Alternatively, you can email HackneyCentral.snt@met.pnn.police.uk or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
