A 14-year-old boy has been bailed over an alleged racist firework attack after a group of Jewish pedestrians were targeted in the street.
The boy was detained by volunteer neighbourhood watch group Shomrim in Dunsmure Road, Stamford Hill, at 8am on Sunday. The police arrived shortly afterwards.
Scotland Yard said he was arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated common assault and possession of a firework in the street.
“Police were called at about 8am on Sunday to Dunsmure Road, N16, to reports of youths throwing fireworks at members of the Jewish community,” said a spokesman, adding the boy had been taken to a north London police station and bailed until March.
No one is thought to have been hurt during the firework-throwing incident.
