Cocaine worth £10,000, £6,000 in cash and £2,000 worth of trainers have been seized from a home in Upper Clapton by the newly-formed violent crime taskforce.

The haul was confiscated from the address in Alconbury Road under the proceeds of crime act on Wednesday, along with a knife.

The discovery was made after arresting a man in his mid-20s in Brettenham Road, Enfield, on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs.

The man remains in custody and is believed to be involved in county lines drug offences.

The same team tried to flag down a car later that night in Enfield but the driver almost ran them over as he speeded away and crashed into an electrical junction box on the same street.

He threw away packages of crack cocaine and heroin worth about £2,000 as he fled, but police caught up with him and arrested him on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs. He remains in custody.

The night before the same team arrested three 17-year-old boys in Haringey on suspicion of drugs offences following a stop-and-search which uncovered class A drugs, cash and a lock-knife. A search of one of their homes found a gas-powered BB gun and a ‘Rambo-style’ knife.
