A teenage girl allegedly organised the brutal murder of a gifted student by helping the killers ‘hunt’ him through the streets, before a ‘sudden, brutal and terrifying’ knife attack.

The Old Bailey heard how Sanaa Ibrahim, 18, was the ‘inside woman’ for three teenage boys – Tre Morgan, 18, and two boys aged 17 and 14 – who were intent on killing 17-year-old Jeremie Malenge.

Prosecutor Timothy Cray QC said Ibrahim and the 17-year-old were in contact 36 times by text, call, and voicemail in the half hour before the fatal stabbing.

He claims the group were “determined to do all they could to kill or at least seriously injure Jeremie Malenge and/or his friend”.

“The evidence shows that she was part of the plan and that her role was as the inside woman,” said Mr Cray.

Ibrahim, of Opal Apartments, Homerton Road, had travelled by train from Swindon back to London on January 6 with Mr Malenge and his 17-year old friend, before heading to Hackney Central.

They arrived at the station at 10.57pm and Ibrahim was on the phone to one of the alleged attackers two minutes later, as the three of them came to ambush them armed with a knife.

They chased Mr Malenge’s 17-year old friend, who hid in undergrowth along the tracks, before they gave up and headed back to Mare Street, meeting Ibrahim at a spot near Hackney Town Hall.

Mr Cray said: “She met up with them after the first chase and spends about 15 minutes talking face-to-face, then, cool as you like she leaves the three people who have been chasing them and goes back to who she was with.

“She was supplying information about what was going on and acting with the others to execute the most deadly plan.”

Ibrahim rejoined Mr Malenge and his friend in a taxi, remaining in touch with the 17-year-old, as he followed their route in a cab with his two accomplices.

When Mr Malenge stopped to buy a bottle of water in Homerton High Street, the attackers jumped out of their taxi, caught him and stabbed the straight-A Petchey Academy student three times in the chest, piercing his heart.

“When it came, the attack was sudden, brutal and terrifying,” said Mr Cray.

Ibrahim, Morgan, of Lyham Road, Clapham, the 17-year-old from Woodford Green, and the 14-year-old from Stoke Newington, all deny murder.

The trial continues.
