A 12-year-old boy was left fighting for his life after being stabbed repeatedly in the chest and back outside the same chicken shop where where Agnes Sina-Inakoju was fatally wounded five years ago.

The boy was said to be returning from Hoxton Chicken and Pizza in Hoxton Street where he had been to collect a takeaway for his mother at 10.15pm on Tuesday night, when he was attacked in Stanway Court.

Police believe the incident is gang-related and linked to another incident half an hour previously, when a fight broke out less than half a mile away.

Police were called to Gorusch Street in Hoxton just after 9.45pm by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) following reports of a stabbing following a fight.

A 19-year-old man was taken to hospital with hand and leg stab injuries.

Both victims are now in a stable condition.

A police spokesman said: “At the early stage police believe the stabbings are linked and gang related.”

Agnes Sina-Inakoju was fatally wounded in Hoxton Chicken and Pizza in 2010 when was inadvertently caught up in a gang feud and shot in the neck by a bicycle-riding gunman.

Detectives from the Trident Gang Crime Command are investigating, and no arrests have been made.

Anyone with information regarding either of the incidents should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
