A man has been charged and eight bailed today after arrests were made by counter terrorism police.
Trevor Brookes, 39, of Fletching Road in Clapton appears in custody at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Saturday charged with two counts of breaching his notification requirement under the Counter Terrorism Act 2008, where certain convicted terrorists are required to comply with a notification scheme.
He was charged with failing to notify police about a change of address and notify false information to the police in a purported compliance with a notification requirement.
A person guilty of such an offence can be liable to a maximum penalty of 5 years’ imprisonment.
