A man has been charged with causing GBH and ABH after a late-night attack in Haggerston that left another man fighting for his life.

Police and medics were called to the junction of Middleton Road and Kingsland Road at 1.25am on Saturday and found two injured men, who were then taken to hospital.

One of them, in his 30s, has been discharged but the other, 35, suffered serious head injuries and is in critical condition.

Two men were arrested yesterday in connection with the attack. An 18-year-old has since been released but Marlon McIntosh, 34, of Gonville Crescent, Northolt will appear in front of magistrates today charged with causing GBH and ABH.
