Hoxton witness appeal: car chase after gun pointed at cops
Two men were arrested today after one of them pointed a gun at police officers in Hoxton.
Four plain clothes police officers noticed the pair acting suspiciously at around 3am in Old Street.
They both ran away after officers approached them, but one pulled out a gun in Rivington Place and aimed it at two of the officers, although no shots were fired.
The 20-year old then threw the gun in the street and fled the scene in a car.
A police chase ensued until the suspect’s car crashed into another car nearly eight miles away in Woolwich Manor Way, Beckton.
The suspect suffered non-life-threatening head injuries and was treated in hospital but has now been discharged and is in custody in a north London police station.
The innocent man driving the other car suffered minor injuries not requiring hospital treatment.
