A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a teenager was shot in Lordship Road, Stoke Newington, last week.

Police were called just after 7pm on Wednesday to reports of shots fired but initially said there was no evidence of gunfire.

They have now revealed the victim, 19, was shot. He was left in critical condition but his injuries are now not believed to be life-threatening.

Gang police were brought in to investigate and on Tuesday arrested a 27-year-old man.
