Morning Lane crash: Two men in hospital after car going wrong way hits tipper lorry and van

A driver going the wrong way down a one-way street hit a tipper lorry and a van after police signalled for him to stop – then ran off.

It happened in Morning Lane by the junction with Retreat Place, at about 8.25am. The junction is still taped off.

London Ambulance Service took two men to hospital with back injuries after firefighters freed one from the van. Police found a knife in the abandoned car.

A man was later arrested on suspicion of driving while disqualified, dangerous driving, and possession of an offensive weapon.
