Police discovered a large amount of class a drugs behind ceiling tiles in an estate stairwell in Stoke Newington last Friday.
They discovered the haul in Ash Court, Saw Mill Way during an estate sweep at around 9pm.
They drugs were found in a plastic bag on a ledge in the ceiling after they removed the tiles.
Sgt Barry McParland, of Springfield Safer Neighbourhoods team, said: “This operation demonstrates the effectiveness of estate sweeps and sends out a message to the criminal fraternity that we will find their drugs, wherever they choose to hide them. I hope that by removing these drugs we can combat crime and anti-social behaviour in the area.”
