A motorist has been convicted after she pursued a cyclist and left him with internal bleeding in Stoke Newington.

Justine Henshaw-Bryan, 25, of Yoakley Road, Stoke Newington, was found guilty of causing serious injury to Damien Doughty by dangerous driving.

The incident happened in Victorian Grove on February 10 last year. Henshaw-Bryan was driving her Ford Fiesta when she became involved in an argument with Mr Doughty, 38, in Stoke Newington High Street.

Following the altercation, the cyclist rode off into Victorian Grove. Henshaw-Bryan followed and struck the cyclist near the junction with Ormsby Place. He suffered internal bleeding and was left unable to work – prompting a crowdfunding page to help Mr Doughty pay his rent.

Henshaw-Bryan was convicted at Wood Green Crown Court yesterday after a trial. Sentencing was scheduled to take place at the same court today.
