A Snapchat fan who threatened to “shank” a homeless man for refusing to pose sucking a lollipop is facing jail.

Reiss St Hilaire, 20, and his laughing pals slipped the confection into sleeping Marc Frisk’s mouth and started taking pictures to post on social media.

The Snapchat social messaging app allows users to take photos and videos, and send them to recipients who can then view them for between one to 10 seconds.

When Mr Frisk woke up and angrily objected, St Hilaire told him: “Come on, it’s for Snapchat”.

St Hilaire, of Gunton Road, Upper Clapton, who was heavily drunk after his 20th birthday celebrations, then stole the homeless man’s hat and told him: “Do you know who I am? I will shank you”.

Mr Frisk, thinking St Hilaire was about to pull out a knife, backed off then reported the incident to a nearby police officer.

When he was arrested, St Hilaire had the broken neck of a cherry wine drink in the pocket of his body warmer.

He was found guilty of abusive and threatening behaviour and possession of an offensive weapon after a two-day trial at the Old Bailey, and will be sentenced on March 20.

The drunken lout was with his brother Pierre and cousin Ryan at 4am on July 6 last year when they came across Mr Frisk sleeping in a doorway in Fenchurch Street, central London.

Prosecutor Richard Bendall, said it was “a pretty mean minded and unpleasant thing to do”.

St Hilaire claimed Mr Frisk had been the aggressor, and tried to pin the blame on his brother and cousin, saying he had been around the corner urinating when the incident happened.

He claimed his finger had got caught in the cherry wine bottle, and it had shattered in his pocket by accident.

St Hilaire denied using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent, and possession of an offensive weapon.
