Teenager dies after falling out of Lower Clapton tower block

Police and paramedics were called to Rogate House on the Nightingale Estate in Muir Road, Lower Clapton just before 8pm, but were unable to resuscitate 15-year old Michael Adu-Boahen.
Police are appealing for help to work out how a teenager died after falling from a fifth floor balcony on Friday night.
Police and paramedics were called to Rogate House on the Nightingale Estate in Muir Road, Lower Clapton just before 8pm, but were unable to resuscitate 15-year old Michael Adu-Boahen.
He was pronounced dead at 8.16pm, and his next of kin have been informed.
Det Sgt Paul Ridley, from Hackney CID, who is leading the enquiry, wants to speak to anyone who made contact with Michael on Friday.

“I would urge anyone who saw Michael falling from the building to contact me as a priority,” he said.
“It is vital that I build a picture of the last hours of Michael’s life.”

He added: “I am keeping an open mind as to the reasons behind this young man’s tragic death.”
A post-mortem was carried out and an inquest was opened at Poplar Coroners Court today.
At this early stage, the death is not believed to be suspicious, but enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances.
