Last Thursday (Nov 21), Hackney police arrested 12 people on domestic violence related offences as part of a crackdown.
They also arrested another 20 people for offences including drugs, burglary, robbery and theft during operation Big Wing.
In addition, three Samurai swords and numerous knives were recovered during sweeps of estates.
Ch Insp Shabnam Chaudhri said: “This operation has sent a really clear message to people who think that they can be violent, or steal from others without there being any consequences. This operation is not just about a day of action; this is a relentless campaign which will continue every day, targeting those who make life a misery for others.”
Around 145 staff officers including special constables, safer neighbourhoods teams, safer transport teams together with partner agencies such as Tradings Standards and Hackney council wardens.
