Man taken to major trauma unit

A cyclist suffered serious injuries in a collision with a van in Hoxton Street during rush hour this morning (Monday).

The man, who is believed to be in his 30s, was hurt in a crash near the junction with Nuttall Street shortly before 8.30am.

A spokeswoman for London Ambulance Service said it was not yet clear what exact injuries the man had suffered but that he was taken to the major trauma centre at the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel.
