A male cyclist has been taken to hospital after he came into collision with a van in Shoreditch an hour ago.

The junction of Shoreditch High Street and Great Eastern Street has been closed to traffic.

A police spokesman said: “There is no update on his condition or injuries, there’s a scene and it’s ongoing.”

The driver stopped at the scene.

The London fixed-gear and single-speed forum website user Breso placed an update online, saying: “Rider down, paramedics are here but the guy doesn’t move. I hope the best. Looks serious, junction shut.”
