Dalston and Hoxton businesses could have licences reviewed

Two businesses in Hackney could be in hot water after applications were made to review their licences.
Hackney Council’s licensing department have applied for a review of the permit granted to Best American Pizza in Pitfield Street, Hoxton, on the grounds of preventing crime and disorder.
The takeaway has already had a bid to stay open until 4am knocked back this year following complaints it had been doing so illegally for years anyway.
Kingsland Food and Wines in Kingsland High Street could also lose its licence after town hall trading standards officers applied for a review on the grounds of preventing crime and disorder and protecting children from harm.
In 2014, the shop’s licensee Abdul Wahid was accused of fuelling the street drinking problem in the area after police witnessed alcohol sales after the 11pm curfew.
The applications will be reviewed after representations have been made from all parties involved.
