A new charity offering free immigration advice to EU citizens living in the UK has launched its self-help guide to answer their questions: “What do I do now?”.
Here for Good was co-founded by Tahmid Chowdhury – who worked on the High Court Article 50 case led by Gina Miller – and Isabella Mosselmans.
Together with two leading immigration public law firms Wesley Gryk LLP and Bindmands LLP, they have produced Act Now – which aims to empower them and let them know their rights.
Tahmid and Isabella said: “Whether you voted leave or remain, it’s clear that EU citizens deserve better than they’re getting.
“These are people who have made and continue to make invaluable contributions to our country. It goes way beyond the taxes they pay and the money they spend; our communities are far richer thanks to them.
You may also want to watch:
“They deserve certainty and security from the country they call home. This guide begins to do that for them, and as a charity we will continue to strive to make sure that they can stay here for good.”
C-author Liz Barratt, a partner and joint head of immigration at Bindmans, was recently named Immigration Lawyer of the Year by The Best Lawyer’s Directory. She said: “I am very pleased to have been involved in the writing of this guide, which provides up to date and detailed information for EEA nationals.
